Obsessed with Meteos? Say it isn't so!

Yes, I am obsessed. I got three great DS games for Christmas (Polarium, Bust-a-Move DS and Meteos) and am totally hooked.

We bought the DS for Nintendogs, which is a lame approximation of Mainichi Nekoyoubi ("Every day is cat day") from Japan, published about 7 years ago. I never really warmed to Nintendogs -- maybe because your dog is always a puppy, and I've really been into the whole girly, "young animal" cult.

Anyway, Meteos came into my life like a breath of fresh air! I don't know why I like it so much, but I guess I finally get the thrill that Tetris devotees have been feeling for years. If you haven't tried Meteos yet, you should check it out.

It's so good that it almost eclipses my favorite DS game ever, Trauma Center. Now there's a game! How can you not love an operation game where you have to remove broken glass from someone's epidermis?

Lots to talk about today. Okay, here we go...

First...

FUCK YOU, SPYWARE!

What a fucking mess. I wasted many many hours of my life on about 80 evil little programs. Makes me want to get a CS degree just so I can write anti-spyware code and give it to people for free to combat this evil shit.

Gee, get mad much? ;-)

Second, my life as an almost-crafter...

This is just too good NOT to make (someday!):

Speaking of projects that will get finished...someday...it's the craft that almost was:

Today I finally picked up where I left off with my black scarf. It's my Nightmare Before XMas scarf...and you will see why when I finish it! The next project will be some silver gauntlets made with the Best Yarn Ever(tm) which I picked up at that big knitting/weaving expo thing earlier this year. Again, pics to follow whenever I get around to finishing the shit.

And, last but certainly not least, see my favorite handmade Christmas present:

Yay! Sooooo happy that they are a.) black with b.) red lettering and c.) that I finally work in a place with enough dorks to get complemented on them! As they say...."w00t!!1"

Best games ever?

My top five list, in no particular order:

1. Rogue (PC) -- you are a smiley face, a Troll is a "T"...how much better can a dungeon crawler be, pre-GUI?

2. Tron Deadly Discs (Intellivision) -- my grandfather and I would play this till the console got so hot it froze.

3. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2) -- can't say enough about this game. I could play it forever!

4. Uncharted Waters (SNES) -- best world exploration game on a console, EVAR.

5. Might and Magic series (PC) -- alright, this is a series, but it's like such a major influence in my life I'm counting the whole thing as one game. ;-)
Okay, I know. 10 months have gone by...and then some.

But I'm back. And I *swear* I will post this time. I promise.

I wanna play too!

Not having a creative bone in my body, I figured I'd get my nerd score too!

I am nerdier than 70% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

Finally, some rest!

I've been working my ass off, and now I finally can get some rest. Well, for now anyway.

So what do I do, in my copious free time?

Working my way through The Wire season 3. God I love that show. It's as real-life as any t.v. show has been. Loved one small scene in the episode we watched last night -- Omar and his boyfriend were sitting in bed watching Oz! (I'd recognize Chris Meloni anywhere, even if I only saw him for a split second.)

What else?

Fighting the urge to go shopping, trying for the third time to knit a REAL sock, contemplating a move...

What kind of nerd am I, anyway?

What kind of nerd am I that I haven't "blogged" yet, you ask?

Well, I'm a fucking busy one.

So there.
